Quality Tyres Ltd
Quality Tyre Specialists is one of central Christchurch oldest and well reputed independent tyre retailer and mechanical workshop evolving from an importation and wholesale operation in the 80s to become Christchurch's largest Hankook retailer.

During the 90s a mechanical workshop was added to service demand for constant velocity joints /brake and wof repairs.

Computerised wheel alignment was added to ensure tyre mileage and customer satisfaction.

Director Ian Carter and two highly skilled technicians operate the shop Monday to Friday and Saturday morning.

Quality Tyre Specialists are actively involved in high level Motorsport and are the National distributor of Hankook rally tyres.


Mission Statement

To maintain a modern and diverse range of tyres and products applicable to classic cars through to modern Japanese and European cars /SUVs and performance vehicles.

To provide a workshop focusing on wheel alignments /CV replacement/brake& wof repairs fast turn around times.


Quality Staff
The best way to ensure best service is to have the best staff! Collectively, our staff has over 40 years experience within the tyre industry which is invaluable in identifying the customers needs.

Nikau
The youngest of our technicians, Nikau has 6 years experience in the wheel alignment/brake servicing and wof repair industry.

With a keen interest in performance cars motorsport, he brings a youthful perspective to the workshop .

Jay
Our senior technician with over twenty years in tyre retailing and mechanical repairs and vast knowledge of products and focus on customer satisfaction and standard of workmanship.

Involvement in 4 wheel drive vehicles and back country travel has provided him with a sound knowledge
of customers 4wd and SUV /car/commercial tyre needs.

Ian - Managing Director
After a successful career in car parts/ tyres importation and wholesaling from 1989 onwards and entering in tyre retailing in 94 starting quality tyre specialists.

Many years of retail service has installed in a focus on customer satisfaction and its importance in building long term customer relationships.

His keen interest in European performance cars and motorsport has shaped the product line up of quality tyre specialists with an emphasis on quality and value.

Ian started motorsport in 1978 in motor rallying entering many events and a selection of cars from minis to Datsun 1200 and MkII escorts running these various cars for six years.

Ian retired to take up a business interest and raise a family but is still involved with motor rallying with Trevor Parmenter from Timaru, winning many events for a series of years, In 1990 entered go cart racing for a year winning many events then moving to circuit racing with his brother Paul.

Upon purchasing a very rare race car, an ex Bathurst Mitsubishi Starion Ian and Paul entered endurance
racing for 6 years winning the south island endurance series and runner up many times running the car at a very fast pace still own the car to date.

In 2005 started back in to motor rallying with the Hankook rally tyres and being evolved in high level and club competitors selling tyres and helping teams to achieve there goals in the sport and tyre advice and
sponsoring various cars and gaining many winning results for our tyres and teams to date .
